Washington, DC – The Nigerian Center is proud to announce the launch of the Washington Prosperity Campaign, a citywide initiative celebrating the vital contributions of immigrants to Washington, DC’s growth and prosperity. Running through January and February, the campaign spotlights two inspiring community leaders and brand ambassadors: Tambra Raye Stevenson, a health advocate and policy advisor, and Ayomide Ibrahim, a financial advisor and business owner.

Featuring powerful portraits and messages displayed across more than 20 prominent locations—including metro platforms, liveboards, and metro buses—the campaign carries a clear message: “When you support immigrant organizations, you support the city’s prosperity.”

Championing Immigrant Contributions

The Washington Prosperity Campaign underscores DC’s role as a welcoming city for immigrants from all over the world. Immigrants form a crucial part of the city’s workforce, innovation, and entrepreneurial spirit, making them a cornerstone of DC’s continued economic success.

Support Immigrant Justice

The campaign encourages residents to support the Center’s Immigration Assistance Fund, which directly aids immigrant communities through vital services. Becoming a monthly donor—at any amount—is one of the best ways to ensure immigrants have access to the resources they need to thrive and contribute meaningfully to DC’s prosperity.

Legal and Social Services

As part of the campaign, the Nigerian Center is promoting its immigration walk-in legal aid program, partially funded by the city’s Immigration Justice Legal Services grant. A featured ad titled “Need Immigration Assistance?” highlights an immigration assistance hotline: 1-800-395-9272, offering support for individuals navigating immigration or naturalization challenges.

“This campaign is a tribute to the resilience and economic contributions of immigrants in Washington, DC. By supporting immigrant-focused organizations like ours, you’re not just helping individuals—you’re investing in the future of our city,” said Gbenga Ogunjimi, Executive Director of the Nigerian Center.
