Nigerian Center Partners with Taptap Send

The Nigerian Center partners with Taptap Send to amplify its program’s reach in Nigerian American communities across the United States

WASHINGTON DC, - The Nigerian Center is pleased to announce its partnership with Taptap Send, a fintech company that allows people to send money back home to Africa, Asia, and the Caribbean. As a part of this partnership, Taptap Send will provide financial and promotional support for the center’s Know Your Rights immigration workshops and its Access to Capital financial education series. The company will also sponsor the organization’s NC Talks speaker and cultural series throughout its 2022 program calendar year.

In February 2022, the Nigerian Center opened its doors in Washington DC, and began serving the Nigerian American community across the United States through a series of programs geared toward its mission of fostering financial inclusion while providing a connection to the Nigerian culture in the United States.

According to Gbenga Ogunjimi, Founder and CEO of the Nigerian Center, “We are thrilled to partner with Taptap Send, a company whose work of digital financial inclusion aligns with our core mission. We, therefore, are looking forward to working with Taptap Send to amplify the Nigerian Center’s work of financial inclusion and social justice opportunities, particularly for previously unreached members of the Nigerian American community across the country.”

About the Nigerian Center

The Nigerian Center is the first immigrant and cultural center for the Nigerian diaspora. Located in the nation’s capital, the Nigerian Center was established to provide social justice opportunities for members of the Nigerian American community in the United States. Additionally, the center supports newly arrived immigrants with culturally sensitive transition and self-sufficiency opportunities. While we are called the Nigerian Center, we are happy to serve all immigrant communities in the United States.
