Know Your Rights Workshop: Asylum, Credible Fear & Domestic Violence

About Event (Virtual)

Are you or someone you know seeking safety in the United States due to violence or persecution in your home country? Do you have a pending asylum case and are unsure about the status or your options for a successful outcome? Join the Nigerian Center for our upcoming Know Your Rights Workshop, focused on asylum, the credible fear process, and legal protections available to survivors of domestic violence.

In this session, immigration attorneys and advocates will explain:

  • What qualifies as asylum and how to apply

  • Understanding the “credible fear” interview at the border or after entry

  • Legal protections for survivors of domestic violence, including asylum based on gender-based violence

  • Your rights if you are detained or placed in removal proceedings

Whether you're navigating the immigration system yourself or supporting someone who is, this workshop will provide essential knowledge and tools to help you stay informed, empowered, and protected.
