I feel most connected to my purpose in life when I am at the Nigerian Center. I have participated in many volunteer efforts previously but here my skills and personality align with the purpose in a way that I have never experienced. Here, the love is palpable..

I am passionate about the Nigerian Center’s work because it delivers the type of cultural, practical, and community-rooted support our diaspora requires to flourish. As a Nigerian-American influenced by both New York and Nigeria, I recognize the necessity of institutions that ensure immigrants feel acknowledged, empowered, and linked to opportunities. I am eager to help the Nigerian Center forge sustainable partnerships and revenue streams that broaden its impact within Nigeria and the larger Black diaspora.

Paralegal and Program Analyst

As a legal scholar with a passion for social justice, I'm proud to represent the African diaspora here at the Nigerian Center. I'm thankful for the opportunity to support our work for community development, cultural exchange, and upward mobility for new Americans. I'm ready to use my experience to advocate for the well being of Nigerian immigrants and the immigrant community.

I am deeply passionate about the Nigerian Center because it acknowledges a difficult truth: the system is not broken, but was designed this way. However, the system does not have the final word. The human spirit is unconquerable, and the Nigerian Center exists to support individuals, families, and youth through both internal and external partnerships on a global scale.
